The bassist for 3 Doors Down was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication after he was involved in a crash that killed another driver in Tennessee.
Todd Harrell was driving his Cadillac CTS late on Friday when he clipped a pickup truck. The truck went out of control, fell down an embankment and overturned. A 47-year-old man was killed in the crash. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.
Harrell showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. He admitted he had drank hard cider and taken the prescription drugs Lortab and Xanax.
Harrell is also accused of bringing controlled substances into the jail. A search at the booking room found a plastic bag hidden in his sock with eight Xanax pills, 24 Oxycodone pills and four Oxymorphone pills.
3 Doors Down’s website said in a statement that the members were “deeply saddened” by the man’s death.
They wrote: ”Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
