God of Carnage, directed by Jerry Jay Cranford, is a Tony Award-winning play that follows the unraveling story of two pairs of parents. The four meet to discuss their children’s playground altercation and, presumably, amicably resolve the consequences. However, the conversation soon devolves to chaos and spirals into a savagely funny story of bad manners.
February 6-8 & 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. and on February 16 at 2:30 p.m. in Mark A. Chapman Theatre (formerly Nichols Theatre).

A hypnotic fusion of dance, live music, aerial acrobatics, visual effects and high fashion.
Art that enchants, invigorates and awakens the imagination has always been born of the rule breakers, and no one is breaking the rules more joyously, more fervently than Kansas City’s Quixotic. A melting pot of dance, aerial acrobatics, projection mapping, high fashion and original live music, Quixotic is a cornucopia of mystical majesty that enraptures audiences who have never even dreamed a night at the theater could be this much fun. Sleek dancers pushing the boundaries of athletic artistry soar across neon skies, painting new nature on old in a vivid fantasy world. Evocative tribal electronica sets the stage for the visual panoply of color and agility in flight. Even the aural accompaniment blurs the lines between stylistic worlds, blending organic instrumentations of lush strings and primal drums with digital symphonies of programmed beats and bellowing subsonic frequencies.
“… it’s a sensory experience that mirrors a beautiful nightmare, a barrage of twisted but elegant imagery … moments of seemingly super-human strength and grace, as acrobats dangle from hoops or ropes above the stage.” — The Pitch

Come meet the family. We’ll leave the lights off for you.
The weird and wonderful family comes to devilishly delightful life in “The Addams Family.” This magnificently macabre new musical comedy is “a visually satisfying, rib-tickling, lunatic musical that will entertain you to death!” says Toronto Post City. Created by “Jersey Boys” authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, Drama Desk-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (“The Wild Party”), choreographer Sergio Trujillo (“Jersey Boys”) and Olivier Award-winning costume and set designers Phelim McDermott & Julian Crouch (“Shockheaded Peter”) with direction by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, “The Addams Family” “is full of charm, wit and surprises that explain why it’s a hit on its national tour” (CBS New Orleans).
“The Addams Family” features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

In T.P.O.’s journey to the sea, children from the audience accompanied by two professional dancers embark on an adventure of discovery in the Mediterranean — a cradle of nature, culture and myths. Bleu! begins on the idyllic Greek Islands amongst the stones, sea shells and whispers of ancient legends, wandering through bustling sea ports and finally diving into the deep blue abyss populated by fish, seaweeds, mollusks and mysterious ancient ruins of disappeared civilizations.
Italy’s Compagnia T.P.O. (Teatro di Piazza o d’Occasione) creates works melding astonishing digital imagery with multidisciplinary performance techniques in the use of music, dance, art, sculpture, digital media, computer technology, lighting and sound. Using the children’s cheering carpet, a large dance mat able to animate sounds and images through pressure sensors, T.P.O. creates a “magic” carpet where, through movement and touch, it is possible to explore imaginary gardens creating a sensitive environment in which the thin border between art and play can be experienced.
Bleu! is ideal for children age 4 and older to teens, parents and grandparents. An open playtime follows each performance so children can freely enjoy the experience. The audience will be seated onstage. Seating is limited.
