NUNSENSE

When:
February 7, 2014 @ 7:30 pm
Where:
The Columbian Theatre - Wamego, Kansas, 521 Lincoln, Wamego, KS, 66547, United States

Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth grade production of “Grease.” Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. With Christine Day, Rachel Koch, Krysten Day, Sarah Rasmussen and Faith Janicki – this is a must-see, laugh out loud show!

January 22, 2014 @ 7:30 pm
Where:
McCain Auditorium

FROM MCCAIN AUDITORIUM:
“A critical smash on Broadway and in London, the two-time Tony Award® winning hit musical “American Idiot” tells the story of three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia. Their quest for true meaning in a post 9/11 world leads them on the most exhilarating theatrical journey of the season.

Based on Green Day’s GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum album, “American Idiot” boldly takes the American musical where it’s never gone before. The result is an experience Charles Isherwood of The New York Times declares “thrilling, emotionally charged, and as moving as any Broadway musical I’ve seen this year!”

Featuring the hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Holiday” and the blockbuster title track, “American Idiot” features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, direction by Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer (“Spring Awakening”), choreography by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett (“Once”), music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt (“Next to Normal”), Tony Award® winning set design by Christine Jones and Tony Award® winning lighting design by Kevin Adams.”
