April 23, 2014 @ 10:00 pm
Aggie Central Station, 1115 Moro Street, Manhattan, KS, 66502, United States
This event will be after the Last Laugh Comedy Competition!
Come show us your musical talents and get a chance to move on to the final round at the end of the month where finalist will compete for $150 cash and three hours of recording time at Aggie Central Station!
- Each artist/group gets 3 songs or 10 minutes to perform. If we have more than 9 groups signed up, this goes down to 2 songs and seven minutes.
- Electrified instruments are allowed, but only if they go direct or have small amplifiers, in which case they will be turned down to minimum. No full bands. The general rule is, if it can’t be set up in 3 minutes or less, we don’t want it.
- We do not allow singers to sing to tracks, this isn’t karaoke. If you are a hip hop MC, you can use tracks but only if they are original and have no main vocals in them.
- Want to win? Bring lots of friends! However, they must stay until the end of the night to vote.

That’s right. I’m leaving the warm, lovely bosum of Aggie Central Station, where together we have done some awesome, beautiful things over the past year or so.
So, I’m celebrating all that awesome by having one of my favorite local bands The Field Day Jitters play, as well as one of my favorite regional bands, Not A Planet.
Also, there will be a not-so-secret opening act that will be a lot of fun.
Let’s come burn the ole girl down one more time before I head off to the West.

Radina's, 616 North Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan, KS, 66502, United States
You and everyone you know are invited to the Opening Reception for the MAC Oil Studio’s month-long show at Radina’s Coffeehouse in Aggieville.
The opening is this Saturday evening from 7-830pm. Stop by to check out the paintings and talk to the people who made them – we’ll be wearing nametags!
Free coffee and cookies have been graciously donated by Radina’s for show attendees.
It’s casual attire, so honestly, you have no excuse not to go.
Bring your friends. See you there!
The Manhattan Arts Center’s Oil Studio is a group of local artists who meet weekly to talk about art, help each other with our work, and of course, PAINT!
Though all of our work is created with oil paints, our paintings range from landscapes to abstract, from serene to jubilant, from intricately-detailed to emotionally-gestured.
Come to the opening and get a taste of what we do!
(please do not eat the paintings)
Most works on display will be for sale (to be collected at/after the show’s end) – if interested, please get in touch with the artist directly.
Can’t make it to the opening? That’s ok! The work will be on display for the entire month of April, and artist contact info will be listed under each piece.
If you’re interested in joining the Oil Studio, feel free to talk to one of us during the opening, or just show up at the MAC’s annex building, Thursdays from 630-830pm.

Purple Masque Theatre
K-State Theatre presents the madcap comedy Anton in Show Business by playwright Jane Martin on April 3-5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Purple Masque Theatre.
Anton in Show Business, directed by Libby Uthoff Stratton, follows three actresses across the footlights, down the rabbit hole and into a strangely familiar Wonderland that looks a lot like American theatre. Anton in Show Business conveys the joys, pains and absurdities of “putting on a play” at the turn of the century.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for students, plus tax and applicable fees.
