Ladies, it’s that time again! Last month’s meeting was so much fun we didn’t want to wait too long for another!
This time we’re going to do a can/bottle share! We did this last year and it went over great!!
You might wonder, what’s a CAN/bottle share? A CAN/Bottle Share is an event where two or more people contribute cans or bottles of beer for sharing, so everyone present who wants to partake gets a chance to try multiple beverages without committing to drinking the entire contents of a bottle.
What to bring:
BEER — Two big beers (22oz.+) or one 6 pack (12oz) [or more] cans/bottles of any craft beer. We are hoping for lots of Fall & Winter seasonals, but of course, that’s not a requirement! They can be rare, special-release, highly rated, not common around here, vintage/cellared, craft beer lover’s favorites…whatever treats you can get your hands on! If you have an idea of what you’re gonna bring, feel free to leave a comment with your RSVP for all to see!
FOOD — We’ve gotta eat too!
We have teamed up with two great local companies for some fun snacks to go along with our brews! Oat Fed Beef is hooking us up with some special made beer brats and Never Better Bakery is providing us with some super tasty baked treats!
Also, ladies, if you like to cook and have something you want to share as well, please feel free!
TASTING GLASS — We’ll have a few plastic cups available but we’d like to avoid too much trash or dishes if possible. So, if you have a favorite glass of your own please bring it with you!
Alright ladies, we want you to branch out! Broaden your horizons! Go to the liquor store and step out of your comfort zone! We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
As always, we need you to RSVP!!!
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a seat the tasting room tables!!
The story of eight men of incredible valor.
Stephen Lang, award-winning playwright and star of stage and screen, carries the personas of eight American veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War who recount with bitter pride, pain and wonder the heroic acts for which they received the nation’s highest military accolade: the Medal of Honor. This riveting one-man show will reach into your soul and keep you thoroughly spellbound. The histories of these eight men are brought to life through Lang’s commanding performance with a backdrop of video screens portraying the turmoil of combat. “Beyond Glory,” is adapted from Larry Smith’s stirring book.

‘Sex Ed. What Wasn’t Covered’ – focuses on the two three-letter words often not heard in high school sexual education settings: GAY SEX.
The play revolves around non-heterosexuals, above the age of 18, from varying states around the U.S., who have been anonymously interviewed regarding their sexual education experience and how they became educated in their current safe-sex knowledge. Highlighted, are specific stories regarding these instances, capturing feelings that arise when discussing their own sexual experiences. The transcriptions of the interviews, copied verbatim, were formulated into a play. The goal is to raise awareness between heterosexual safe-sex practices and non-heterosexual safe sex practices within the school sexual education systems.
Through the interviewing process, I found that as a community, individuals were firmly and solidly educated on the safe sex practices regarding heterosexual intimacy, but it was not until early, and even late, adulthood that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and/or Questioning individuals are educated in the matter of safe same-sex practices. This production will shine light on the need for such education within schools.
The production dates will be November 14th, 15th, and 16th with a REMOUNT on Sunday, December 1st (World AIDS DAY). All performances take place in the Purple Masque Theater (East Stadium 103) at 7:30pm.
This is a FREE event! I ask that you spread the word to your colleagues and friends about attending. Although the event is free, donations will be collected and the proceeds will be going to AIDS Research.
A “talk-back” (where the audience has a chance to meet the cast/crew and ask questions) will be following each performance. A guest speaker will also be present each evening during the talk-back. They will provide their own perspective and/or stories as well as opinions revolving around the performance.
