Creativity Illuminated Concert: “Maya Variations for Earth Harp”

April 6, 2014 @ 8:00 pm
K-State Libraries, 1100 MidCampus Drive, Manhattan, KS, 66506, United States

“Maya Variations” is a multimedia work that features William Close on Earth Harp and Norik Manoukian on Armenian woodwinds performing an original composition by Yuval Ron. The musicians will be accompanied by filmmaker David Lebrun’s imagery.

The piece contrasts the ancient Mayan civilization and its connection to nature with our contemporary industrialized civilization and its reliance on technology. The performance features the strings of the giant Earth Harp soaring over the audience in the Great Room — known as the “Harry Potter Room” — for a special sensory experience.

This event is FREE, but tickets are required and can be reserved by calling 785-532-6428.
