After Ian Kennedy nailed Zach Grienke with a pitch last night, all Hell breaks loose as both benches clear for an all out brawl – check it out:
…and live to tell about it? Just think of all your worst hangovers. They more than likely involve at least a little bit of Jäger, right? Right. And you’re a tough guy, you probably had several shots. Well, this guy is a champ.
NEW YORK (AP) — Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell says he is being treated for cancer.
In a statement Monday, the 50-year-old says he has Hodgkin lymphoma and has been in chemotherapy for two months, with four months of treatment remaining.
Says Campbell: “I feel fortunate that my cancer sent me an alarm call in the form of `the cough that wouldn’t quit.’”
Campbell says he still plans to hit the road this summer with Def Leppard. The first show is at the Hellfest music festival in France on June 21. The tour wraps up July 17 in Canandaigua, N.Y.
Campbell also played in the bands Dio and Thin Lizzy.
Metallica surprised crowds at Detroit’s Orion Music + More Festival over the weekend when they hit the stage under a fake name to play their 1983 debut album in its entirety.
During a slot scheduled for an unknown band named “Dehaan”, Metallica walked on stage and gave fans a treat by playing their album ”Kill ‘Em All” from start to finish.
The set was a huge surprise, since the band had only been scheduled to headline on June 9th.
It turns out ”Dehaan” is the last name of Dane DeHaan, the actor who stars in the band’s new 3D film “Through The Never”. James Hetfield introduced Dehaan before bringing out the rest of Metallica.
The performance came just a month before the 30th anniversary of the release of “Kill Them All”.
Here’s the full set!
Back by popular demand, from the Library of K-Rock, are the horribly redone movie scenes from last week. The way it worked was if you could guess what movie the scenes came from, you could score free Fandango movie passes! Well we’re out of passes, so you can’t win anymore!
The first clip we uploaded last weekf featured Mr. Crowley being a creeper in 1982′s Fast Times at Ridgemont High:
Next, we put up the classic printer smashing scene from 1998′s “Office Space”. The best part about this is that we got to smash the printer while experiencing a case of the Mondays!
Our third offering was this scene from the 1995 classic “Tommy Boy”. Please take a moment to notice how good of a job we did placing the green screen.
Shawn Rock and Cate Carrier shine in this re-imagined scene from 1994′s classic buddy comedy “Dumb and Dumber”. Neither one of them really needed any directing, as they have both seen the movie several hundred times.
Finally, we closed out the week with everybody’s favorite lunch scene, ever. Not a lot of acting involved in this scene, either. This is pretty much how lunch goes at K-Rock.
Enjoy these clips until next time!
Watch this jackass put a knife in a toaster and feel better about yourself!
A researcher at North Carolina State University studied how people pronounced certain words and used certain phrases to create over 100 maps that show how the country is divided by dialect.
For example, if you say ‘ya’ll,’ then chances are very good you were raised south of the Mason-Dixon line.
The phrase ‘you all,’ is used mostly in Kentucky and a chunk of central Florida, while ‘you guys’ is basically used everywhere else.
Also while most of America says ‘sub’ for a long cold cut sandwich, some say ‘hoagie,’ ‘hero’ or even a ‘grinder.’
A ‘sweetened carbonated beverage’ is probably a ’pop’ if you’re from the Plains states but a soda if you’re from the coasts.
