Foo Fighters headlined the Firefly Music Fesitval in Delaware over the weekend and filled their encore with covers of Queen’s “Under Pressure”, Van Halen’s “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love”, The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You”, and Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out.”
Due to guitarist Chris Shiflett’s broken ankle, he played the whole show sitting down. This was the only date of the summer for the band.
Ferrell dropped the new challenge in an interview with SPIN, saying, “We did talk about another drum-off. With a third person that looks eerily similar to Chad and I. A third drummer out there.” With a little prodding from Smith, he continued, “We talked about Lars, from Metallica. So, I don’t know. … Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith. He can settle that score now, too.”
“There it is,” added Smith. “The gauntlet is down.”
While we wait for Ulrich to respond, ABC News Radio reminds us that the original drum battle was for charity — and reports that specially screened and autographed cymbals ($1,000) and drum heads ($500) are still for sale, with proceeds going to the non-profits designated by Ferrell and Smith. Guns N Roses’ 3D concert film “‘Appetite for Democracy 3D: Live at the Hard Rock Casino – Las Vegas’ will be screened in theaters this summer. Making several stops throughout the US, the film will play in Manhattan on June 18-19.
Rise Against announced via Facebook today that their new album called The Black Market will be available July 15. They also included a teaser video which features a snippet of their upcoming single “I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore.” The single will be officially available next Tuesday (June 10).
